Proper pancakes in Dundee
Those of us, of a certain age, who remember The Pancake Place remember it well. Big pancakes, lots of toppings and tasty too. We were in Dundee for a Christmas market and spied The Pancake Place, so we had to try it out.
The Pancake Place Menu
What we ate
Macaroni and cheese with chips. Good cheesy mac & cheese. School dinner hall chips, which could’ve done with a few more minutes.
Scottish all day brunch – Choose either pancakes or potato scone. A back to childhood fried breakfast with budget sausage and black pudding.
And a pancake! This is the Alaskan. A big pancake smothered in cream, banana and syrup with a dollup of ice cream just for some more sugar!
A proper pancake with plenty of toppings
Another blast from the past was the proper childhood Crusha milkshake.
Verdict
The Pancake Place was somewhere I was always excited to visit as a kid and good to see that the pancakes are as good as I remember.
There us a lot of staff, who seem to not have allocated serving areas as we had various members of staff asking similar questions.
Underneath tables weren’t cleaned fully after guests leaving, so debris from kids eating all over the floor.
Good pancakes.
