The Laurieston Bar in Glasgow is on the market

Property seller Christie & Co. have brought a piece of Glasgow history to the market with the listing of the Laurieston Bar. The pub has been part of the Clancy family history for 40 years and is now up for sale.

The Category C-listed Bridge Street bar has seemingly remained unchanged since the 1960’s. It’s individual character has led to it being featured in HBO Succession, Sky thriller Dead Shot as well as in movies such as Young Adam and Wild Rose.  It also features in the CAMRA heritage pub interiors.

The bar is a popular stop on the Glasgow Subcrawl and pre gig refreshments before the nearby O2 Academy.

Gerry Clancy, the current owner, said: “In any family business, ‘family’, is the priority. After 40 years serving “The Laurieston Bar Family”, we would now like to devote more time to serving the Clancy family. It goes without saying, it will be business as usual until the right buyer is found.”

We have spent many happy hours in The Laurieston, so much so we have a lovely print by Kieron Redmond in our living room

Here’s hoping that an owner who appreciates The Laurieston Bar as much as the customers do snaps it up.
