Innis & Gunn are getting into the festive spirit as they have announced what will be on the Christmas and New Year menus at their taprooms for Christmas nights out and Christmas parties. Did you know they have two in Glasgow (Hillhead and city centre) and two in Edinburgh (one in Leith and one in Tollcross). We wandered along to the Ashton Lane taproom to sample some of their Christmas meal offerings at their recent preview.
Christmas crackers were on the tables as we arrived and we were offered a mulled punch and a special Innis & Gunn Christmas FestBier, which is similar to a lager, a clear blonde beer that is quite malty with a bitter finish.
The taproom at Ashton Lane has 3 levels, the main bar on the ground floor, the restaurant above and another room above that, which can both be booked out for Christmas parties.
The food was extremely tasty – especially the tatties, which were roasted to perfection and full of flavour. Here are some of the items you can feast on.
Christmas meal and buffet menus
The 3-course Christmas menu is £34.95 per person with the following options available:
Or you can opt for a buffet at £15 per person.
For Hogmanay, a table in the restaurant with 4-course meal, New Year party and live entertainment, the prices are:
£70 for an early restaurant sitting
£85 for a late sitting
Or, you can go for a package such as £220 for 4 people with either:
2 bottles of prosecco and bar snacks, or 1 bottle of prosecco, 8 cans of Innis & Gunn and bar snacks
For £440 you can have a table for 8 with 2 bottles of prosecco, snacks and 16 cans of Innis & Gunn or your choice of spirit and mixer for 8 from a selection of house vodka, gin, rum or whisky.
If you’re still looking for the ideal Christmas gift for the beer lover in your life then you can gift the chance to make your own ‘homebrew’ using kit available in the tap rooms, with a 5 litres mini-keg of your finished product to take home with you afterwards. This can be either a pale ale, IPA, or stout. Find out more about the Innis & Gunn Brew School here.
