Emma Rooftop cocktails in Edinburgh near the castle
With a view over towards Edinburgh Castle, Gondolas and a location in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town at Grassmarket, this may be the place to sit this summer. We wrote about the launch of the Magnum Summer Terrace here, so whilst in Edinburgh for a visit; we popped in to try their cocktails and chill out.
You can’t miss the Cold Town House, located at the end (or the beginning!) of Grassmarket. With its Wisteria-clad wall and handy selfie spot for Edinburgh castle, it is somewhere that is easy to find.

We tried each of the cocktails, well it would have been rude not to! The shots look good as well, so we’ll have to return to try these. I especially liked the sound of the peaches and cream shooter.
Onto the cocktails, as expected these were creamy. That luxurious cream lushness in each drink. The strawberries ‘n cream cocktail packed a punch, let the strawberries soak in the cocktail for added yumminess.
These were easy to drink, lush cocktails in a roof top setting. There is some covering when the weather isn’t so great (which seems to be this summer eh?)
Banana Colada
Magnum, Malibu, banana liqueur, pineapple juice, coconut milk, and coconut syrup.
Choc ‘n Chip
Magnum, Mozart Dark Chocolate, Creme de Menthe, milk and vanilla syrup.
Strawberries ‘n Cream
Magnum Bacardi Spiced, Creme de fraise, cream and vanilla syrup.
Extra points are awarded for the couple of old ski lift gondolas, a cosy way to keep the rain out in a Scottish summer.

Opening Hours
Magnum Summer Terrace is open seven days a week from 11am to 1am Friday to Sunday, and 12noon to 12am Monday to Thursday.
