A mere ten minutes walk from Borough Market and with a selection of bars and restaurants on your doorstep, SACO Apartments at 6 Lamb Walk in Bermondsey are ideal for a foodie traveller.
For us coming from Scotland it was a short tube hop from Euston to London Bridge and then an easy walk to Bermondsey Street (which is sign-posted from London Bridge tube/The Shard).
A pain-free check-in included the manager showing us where all the essentials were and he kindly showed us how to turn off the underfloor heating as it was a surprisingly hot day.
The bedroom has a TV, double bed with plump pillows and excellent storage. Looking out of the window…
…the is view is towards Londons’ latest landmark, The Shard. There’s also a connecting door to the bathroom…
…with a good sized bath with two shower heads, one regular and one rainfall, and a towel rail with very large towels, L’Occitane toiletries and lots more storage.
Next to the bathroom was a hall cupboard containing a washing machine with dryer, iron and ironing board.
The kitchen had everything we needed with a dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and even chopsticks!
Breakfast essentials were provided…
…as well as water, soft drinks and milk, which was handy for that late night arrival and emergency cuppa!
The lounge contained an Ipod dock, DVD, TV and the all important information folder containing instructions for all the machinery as well as suggestions for where to go locally.
The South facing balcony is an ideal morning coffee spot.
Just at the end of the street is Bermondsey Street which has an excellent selection of bars and restaurants as well as boutiques to keep everyone happy.
The apartments had everything you would need for a stay, particularly for a long term stay. The location was ideal with a supermarket at the end of the street and Borough Market a short walk away. Bars and restaurants are also on your doorstep. Public transport is within easy reach (bus, train and tube). Importantly the apartments were comfortable, quiet and secure.
SACO Apartments can be booked Here. Rooms for this development start from £204 per night.
TL;DR
+ Great location, especially for foodies
+Excellent quality of decor
– Can be expensive for short stays, but for a longer stay could work out cheaper especially with a family
We were asked to review the apartments in exchange for a night’s stay but as ever Fred gives his purr of honesty.
