Well when you in Amsterdam you have to go for a look don’t you and if you are why not go to a famous one.  Featured in Ocean’s 12 and noted for it’s decor, De Dampkring was the place to go.

Lovely ornate, Art Nouveau styling both outside and inside it felt like entering another world.  Very small inside, so the clouds and crowds are choking.

We ventured for a couple of cakes 😉 at €7.50 each as well as mint tea €2.70 and and apple and cinnamon tea €2.90

The mint tea was a huge bunch of mint leaves served with sachets of honey, delicious, minty and refreshing.  The apple Cinnamon tea was a bit weak.  The cakes were uplifting, chocolate muffin was a bit dry but the cake slice was very moist.

Very friendly and welcoming staff too.
