Moxy Hotels opens in Glasgow

Glasgow is the first city to have a Moxy hotel in the city centre.  The boutique hotel brand opened its doors just a couple of weeks ago in November and we went along to see how things are now looking after a few weeks in business.

Decor

The hotel has an eclectic personality with a mixture of classic design, industrial beams and exposed ceilings, and plenty of quirky elements. Spray cans and graffiti art sit beside a mix of comfortable chairs to relax in and recover after your journey (some are even suspended from the ceiling!). There’s also wall-mounted guitars, cheeky embroidery, and loads of interesting books dotted around.

There are quiet areas to work at but there’s also a bit of buzz around the place and you can have a beer whilst sitting using the free WiFi.

Food and drink options are available 24/7 at the Moxy with a self-service area as well as bar service.  Fruit juices, soft drinks, beers, teas & coffee are also available.

Rooms

We were able to nosey into a couple of the rooms.  Everything you need with charging sockets, big comfy beds and peace to sleep.

On each floor is an ironing room, with um, interesting decor…something tells me a lot of ladies will be ironing here! But it’s not just the wall chappy who is cheeky, when the iron heats up the ironing board the lady’s clothes (on the ironing board) fall off (but her modesty is still covered)!
