Retro decor with massive bacon rolls

The Horn Milk Bar has been around since the 1960’s with the rooftop cow a famous sight alongside the A90.  In these crazy days it was comforting to stop off and step back in time to the era of milk bars and proper roadside cafes.

As you can see the look here is retro, veneer walls with a dash of 1980’s tables and chairs. It was just like stepping back into childhood when we visited the cafe area of British Home Stores or Littlewoods.

Even the lack of selection just made it feel like stepping back to the 70’s and 80’s.

Make sure to take the time out to appreciate the hanging signs with delights such as “Filled rolls and gateaux”,  “Chilled wines and soft drinks”.  Sadly no black forest gateaux or Blue Nun to be found here.

There is however a wide range of meals on offer, but we were here for their famous bacon roll.

Six rashers of bacon inside a floury roll.  Mr foodie picked the sausage and egg roll, 3 sausages and a fried egg.  He also decided that we needed a yum yum and a cinnamon biscuit just in case there wasn’t enough calories there!

We were very happy with all the items snd we are sure that the bacon roll would keep you full for at least a couple of days!
