You don’t need alcohol to welcome in the bells
If you are looking for new and different alcohol-free drinking options to welcome in 2022 then we have a few suggestions below, including sparkling tea, award-winning beer and spiritless spirits.
Jing Sparkling Tea
JING Jasmine Pearls Sparkling Tea is a pretty unique product. You’ll find heady jasmine aromas with a smooth and refreshing green tea depth, subtle fruit notes, hints of honey and a dry texture. Recommended to lovers of jasmine tea especially.
Jump Ship
Jump Ship is a small start-up from Edinburgh who are on a mission to make great-tasting beer without the booze and the hangover. Despite only starting in December 2018 their Yardarm Gluten-Free lager was crowned the world’s best no & low alcohol lager at the 2021 World Beer Awards. They recently released Stoker’s stout and have 2 other beers: Flying Colours pale ale and Goosewing IPA. All are available in cans only, which are lighter to transport and easier to recycle. The grain which is left over from brewing is also used to feed cattle on a nearby farm, and through the Work for Good movement, at least 10% of their profits are donated to charity.
Spirits of Virtue single serve zero alcohol pouches
Spirits of Virtue are a non alcoholic spirits company based in Clydebank who specialise in alcohol-free drinks that are normally available in 70cl bottles and 250ml cans.
As alcohol-free drinks have a shorter shelf life than the spirits they are based on they have released a pack of five 50ml single serve pouches so you can sample a selection of different flavours from their brands without spending too much.
Each pack/pouch uses sustainable packaging, which can be recycled, and comes with cocktail and mixer suggestions for using with each single serve pouch, they are: Pearsons Botanicals and Pearsons Hibiscus and Rose (gin alternatives); Glen Dochus West Coast blend (whisky alternative), Usko (vodka alternative) and 270 West Coast Spiced Carribean (rum). The drinks are also vegan and Halal credited with low or no sugar (£9.99)
