Bear Hotel, 41 Charnham Street, Hungerford, Berkshire – April 2011

Traditional village style on the outside but modern inside. Friendly staff and atmosphere.

Lambs kidneys – was enjoyed by the other half but I wasn’t a big fan, good to see something different on the menu.

Fish n chips – meaty cod lovely

ham, duck egg and chips – tasty ham, dribbly egg to dip your chips into, good honest grub!

orange creme brulee with a florentine – gorgeous, lightly flavoured brulee.

Lemon tart – refreshing lemon flavour.

Rhubarb and apple pie –

£76 in all including a bottle of wine.  All dishes were tasteful however the prices were rather steep for what is food served in a pub setting.
