Bluerapa Thai, 6 Torpichen Place, Edinburgh – June 2012

A quick dinner was required in Edinburgh before going to see a film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival (The Imposter , recommended!).  We stumbled across Bluerapa Thai and thought we’d give it a try.

Sweetcorn Cakes £4.95, spiced with red curry paste and kaffir lime, served with Chilli Sauce and Peanuts.

Fluffy with just the right amount of spice to tingle but not overwhelm the taste.  One of those, oh i could do this, dishes.

Sweet Potato Fritter £4.95 with desicated coconut and sesame seeds

Balance of sweet and sour, another one on the ooh I’ll have to try to make these at  home.

Roasted Duck Yum £6.95 shallots, apples, cashew nuts, mango, coriander, mint and lemon dressing.

Great infusion of flavours and textures, only downside was the duck was a little rubbery for my liking.

Namtok Grilled Beef, £6.95, tossed with powdered rice, spring onion, shallots, coriander, dried chillies, mint and lime juice

Delicious!, the man won with his choice of meal.  Spicy, minty and tender beef.  Gah!

It’s BYOB here, no corkage, so not knowing this we made do with a thai iced coffee (no different from a normal iced coffee lol) and a glass of mango juice.  A lot of the drinks on the menu were not available, so probably best to take your own.

All in £32.70 for two dinner (rice £2.50 extra) and two soft drinks.

Quick service, busy restaurant, would go again.  Menu’s can be found HERE

p.s and I got free help re-setting my iphone, service eh!?
