Emma Need to show your boarding pass?
Social media has been alight with the boarding pass/VAT discussion, so much so that a grassroots revolt is mounting with demonstrations seemingly at WH Smith at Heathrow and travellers not complying with the request.
I had assumed you were legally obliged to comply with requests to present boarding passes when paying for goods in airport shops when really it is to boost retailers profits! The boarding pass is to see whether or not you are flying within the EU and the company can save the VAT.
With planned mass with-holding, no doubt there will be some “you need to show it for security” guidance issued. Cynic? never 😜
Just remember it’s a corporate decision and don’t harrange the poor till person. Any discussion, get the Manager.
