Brodies, 53 West Regent Street, Glasgow *CLOSED*

When we arrived at around 12:30 the restaurant was empty apart from a single table. We opted for 2 items from the £5 weekday lunch menu – large Haggis nachos and a soup & sandwich combo of Cajun Chicken with soup of the day – cream of Tomato soup. Other £5 options include another 5 sandwich options, regular nachos, chicken and black pudding stovies, a beef burger, pie, pasta or salad of the day.

The sandwich was half a baguette, the filling tasty if a little dry. The soup was lovely and creamy and was served in a sort of teardrop-ladle shaped bowl.

The “large” haggis nachos however were anything but large which was disappointing! The haggis was good but they were finished quickly and I was still hungry. A “smaller” portion, which is only slightly cheaper can be ordered as a starter from the main menu. Service was prompt and when we left it was busy. I’ll come back and sample some of the dishes from the main menu…

  1. Great restaurant, nice to see it busy. Hard to get a table on a Saturday night.

  2. Shame about this closing, Brodies was excellent.
