Established in 1924 and a retro classic as well as a film classic make this a good detour from the city centre. Not being from the area I’ve always meant to go and try out the ice cream….today was that day.
Due to wandering about Maryhill on a dreich day we ordered two coffees. Quickly plumped in front of us where two, large mugs of traditional cafe coffees – just what was needed. We went for some stodge – macaroni cheese, chips n salad and a big breakfast. Both were tasty and hit the spot. The breakfast disappeared quickly with no complaints which is unusual.
A double nougat to go satisfied the home made ice cream craving. Well worth a visit for the milky coffee and the surroundings.

We love it, lovely mug of coffee and the rolls n sausage (with onion) are the best in town. It’s not fancy but its clean, cheap and tasty.
