Emma Caorunn Cask Aged Gin!
Last month I got to visit Caorunn at their Balmenach Distillery and see how Caorunn is made. Click here to read about that visit. Whilst there, we had a taste of a secret limited edition gin, which we were sworn to secrecy about, however, we can now let the cat out of the bag – a cask-aged gin!
There will be only 797 bottles available to purchase directly from Caorunn’s visitor centre at Balmenach Distillery and via Caorunn’s website.
The limited edition Cask Aged gin offers unique notes of bright citrus and vanilla which works well with the botanicals. It tasted just like the best bits of whisky and gin, all in one drink. The use of Spanish oak butts adds a bright gold colour to the gin and a more luxurious mouthfeel. Bottled at an ABV of 56%, Cask Aged lends itself to bold flavours of peppery botanicals, delicate oak, sweet spices and candied citrus peel with an enveloping spiced toffee note.
Caorunn Cask Aged (RRP £45.00, 70cl) will be exclusively available from Balmenach Distillery and via Caorunn’s website from Wednesday 21st June 2023.
