Italian Cuisine Week 2016
Tony Macaroni isn’t the first place you would think of to celebrate Italian Cuisine Week with the Italian Consulate, however being Foodie Explorers, we ventured East.
Italian Cuisine Week is a promotion to publicise “Made in Italy’ products across the world.
The “Settimana della Cucina Italiana” or “Italian Cuisine Week” is one of the initiatives outlined in the “Food Act”, an action plan devised by the Italian Government to promote genuine Italian cuisine and produce.
The Italian Consulate and Tony Macaronis Menu consultant Fabio Campoli joined together with a special menu using ingredients from Italy.
A lot of the produce came from Valle di Comino in central Italy, the area from which a large proportion of the Scots Italian community originate.
In the kitchen was celeb chef Fabio Campoli (Tony Macaroni menu consultant) and Papa U.K. Pasta Chef of the Year 2016 Rocco of Tony Macaroni.
The food was delicious, and cooked perfectly – I was surprised at how well the kitchen handled serving a whole restaurant at once, but they did!
