Farm Shop, furniture shop, and cafe all in one

Not far from the Wallace Monument on the outskirts of Stirling is the Coffee Bothy. It’s a strange place, a mixture of a furniture shop, farm shop and cafe. We popped in for some food and a nosey around.

As you can see the setting here is lovely with the Ochill Hills nearby.

Here is a small peek inside the farm shop. There is a large freezer section with food from “Cook” as well as a wide selection of fresh and cupboard items to buy.

Menu

This is the menu for what I think is Coffee Bothy Express. This is the first eating area you arrive at, and further along, is another cafe area. It’s a basic coffee shop, brightly lit with some sofas and tables.

We picked the soup of the day alongside a variety of sandwiches. Fillings included bacon, brie and cranberry (£9.95); tuna mayo (£9.60); ham and mustard (£9.60 and some cakes.

Due to low staffing we had to wait…a good bit…lots of apologies for the wait but…for the quality and presentation of the dishes received, especially for the price..it looked like something we could’ve had made up for us at home…by our nephew.  Sorry but £9.95 for a scrape of cranberry sauce, tasteless brie and a poor amount of bacon..and that was just my sandwich.

Verdict

Poorly made sandwiches with average tea and coffee. Stay in your car and try Tilly Tearoom in Tillicoultry or HBW in Stirling
