Devon staycation inspiration

Here are a few suggestions to start off research into a staycation in Devon. Soar Mill Cove Hotel is our choice for a place to stay. Beside the sea but sheltered, we found that it had excellent family-friendly facilities but was also peaceful, scenic, and the food was to an excellent standard. We also dined at the Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park, which is a hotel too, tucked away in the countryside, it is grander than Soar Mill and better suited to a romantic getaway than a family holiday.

At the other end of Devon are the villages of Lynton and Lynmouth with the water powered Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway.  A must for history nerds, and those who like a visit to the seaside.
