We learned from our dedicated guide who Mary King was and why she came to have a street named after her. Delving further underneath the streets of Edinburgh’s old town, through multiple levels, we discovered how people within the walled city of Edinburgh once lived, visiting and seeing a number of different properties.
At the end of the tour, visitors get to sample four unique gins from the Edinburgh Gin range, each having a historical link to Edinburgh’s medieval Old Town, Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh Castle’s one o’clock gun and gin trade at the port of Leith.
Dates
The one and a-half-hour guided ‘Stories and Wonders’ tour and tasting will start at The Real Mary King’s Close, Warriston’s Close, at 5 pm, 5.30 pm, 6 pm and 6.30 pm on eight separate dates during July, including Friday 15th, 22nd and 29th, and Saturday 16th, 23rd and 30th.
