Fingal is creating room for romance this Valentine’s Day for couples to enjoy a ‘dreamy stay’, fine dining and a newly created ‘L’Amour Martini’ cocktail.  (Read about our stay here)

Berthed on Edinburgh’s vibrant waterfront, Fingal has just been crowned one of the top 25 five-star hotels and restaurants in the UK and Northern Ireland by the internationally recognised Automobile Association (AA). The luxury floating hotel has sailed into the AA’s prestigious list of hotels and restaurants for the first time after being awarded the top five-star rating for the hotel and two AA Rosettes for its Lighthouse Restaurant.

Re-launched as a luxury hotel in 2019, the former Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) tender is owned and operated by the award-winning team at The Royal Yacht Britannia.

Fingal’s ultimate Valentine’s package includes a private luxury cabin for couples to share a ‘dreamy’ overnight stay, evening dinner, cocktails and breakfast in Fingal’s Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar, as well as a bouquet of fresh flowers and a selection of handmade chocolates created by Fingal’s own Executive Pastry Chef waiting in your cabin on arrival.

‘L’Amour Martini’ cocktail recipe, prepared by Karis Knowles, Food & Beverage Supervisor, The Lighthouse Bar, Fingal, Edinburgh 

Ingredients

·      25ml Chambord

·      25ml Arbikie Chilli Vodka

·      50ml Homemade Pineapple and berry wine

·      50ml Raspberry sorbet

Method

1.     Shake all ingredients together with ice into a Boston shaker until well shaken and frothy. 

2.     Fine strain into a chilled champagne cocktail coupe. 

3.     Garnish with a raspberry and Chambord pearl, plus a dehydrated Pineapple quarter.

Open to non-residents for Afternoon Tea, dinner and cocktails, Fingal’s Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar offers a choice of eight self-contained private dining booths for small pre-booked groups. Fingal’s 23 luxury cabins are each named after Stevenson lighthouses, inspired by Fingal’s rich maritime heritage. The ship is now the ultimate in luxury accommodation and dining with a nautical twist.

An overnight stay on Fingal this Valentine’s Day starts from £540 per night, based on two people sharing a cabin; breakfast, a bouquet of flowers on arrival in cabin, chocolates created by Fingal’s Executive Pastry Chef; dinner allowance of £50 per person in The Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar; £15 per person towards cocktails; and is subject to availability.
