Greggs and Fenwick have announced the launch of Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick Newcastle, a year after the two iconic North East founded brands launched the phenomenally successful Bistro Greggs at Fenwick.

Built on the success of Bistro Greggs, which saw over 8,000 covers during December 2023, the Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick will open from Thursday 24th October – Tuesday 31st December.

The first-ever Greggs Champagne Bar will pair Greggs’ iconic savoury menu of bakes and rolls with an elevated selection of condiments and garnishes, alongside a carefully curated list of Fenwick Food Hall finest Champagnes.

The Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick will be open daily from 11:30AM to 6PM Monday to Saturday (excl Thursdays), 7PM Thursday and 4 PM Sundays at Fenwick Newcastle, Ground Floor, 39 Northumberland St, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 7AS.

Sparkling on offer at the UK’s most premium Greggs will range from a £10 glass of Ca di Alte Prosecco to a £75 glass of Louis Roederer Cristal – also available by the bottle for £425.

The indulgent menu, specially created by Fenwick Executive Head Chef Mark Reid in collaboration with Greggs, will see the leading food-on-the-go retailer’s classic savoury menu served with a delicious range of contemporary and “in vogue” condiments. With over 1,700 Steak Bakes sold at Bistro Greggs last December, this year’s menu sees it served with a creamy peppercorn aioli. The famous Sausage, Bean & Cheese Melt is taken to new culinary heights with the pairing of Bloody Mary ketchup, and the nation’s favourite Sausage Roll has been revamped with the pairing of a hot honey chilli sauce.

But the menu doesn’t stop there. For a sweet finish, there is also a host of signature cocktails inspired by Greggs’ iconic sweet treats. Diners can enjoy a “Yum Yum Twist”, a sweet, sugar-glazed cocktail crafted with rum and real Yum Yums, a “Cream Éclair” which features vanilla vodka and dark chocolate liqueur, and a non-alcoholic “Peach Melba” cocktail. Fans of last year’s Bistro Greggs signature “Pink Jammie Fizz” will be delighted with the return to this year’s menu in collaboration with Mother Mercy.

The design of The Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick pays homage to the Belle Epoque era, a period in French history characterised by beauty and joy. The space has been designed to feel decadent, mirroring Art Nouveau stylised details throughout. The Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick will seat 16 customers around a curved bar, synonymous with 1900’s Paris, as guests sip from bespoke Sausage Roll etched Champagne coupes. Guests can also ring vintage, crystal bells for a top-up of their tipple!

The launch of Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick is built upon the success of Bistro Greggs where customers reveled in the extravagant menu, with some enjoying a break from Christmas shopping, and others celebrating wedding anniversaries and birthdays.
