US Chicken Chain to open first Scottish outlet this Monday

Popular US chicken chain, Popeyes, are putting the final touches to their first Scottish store and we had a look around the site to day and taste tested some of the menu.  We were especially looking forward to their signature crispy chicken and some biscuits and gravy.

The new location has a drive thru as well as inside seating.  One thing we did like was the at car QR code ordering.  You order via the QR code and the order is delivered to your car – no need to speak to the drive through operator if you are feeling a little shy.

Inside there are ordering kiosks where you lift your number and pick one of the 56 seats whilst waiting for your order.  Inside the number stands are devices so that staff can find you and not the usual sight of a wandering around employee looking for number 14!

Whilst visiting we got to get close up with the cooking process.  The chicken breast is coated in house and not brought in ready coated and frozen.  I think I still have some of the Louisiana spiced flour on my phone!

Mr C then tried his hand at making one of their signature chicken burgers. Fried chicken breast, fresh pickles & creamy mayo in a soft brioche bun.
