International Sherry Week

Sherry supper club and masterclass inside Lind & Lime Distillery

Slonk and Port of Leith Distillery have partnered up to transform The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery into a Sherry Supper Club like no other, in honour of International Sherry Week.

The Sherry Supper will see guests welcomed with a specially crafted sherry cocktail by the Lind & Lime team, before getting stuck into a story led Sherry masterclass, featuring 5 Sherry wines and a Spanish tapas feast.

The Port of Leith Distillery brand produces two Sherry wines, crafted Bodegas Baron, a 480-year-old producer with a very modern outlook. Both of these wines will feature in the masterclass, as well as a Fino, Amontillado and an elusive VORS 30-year Pedro Ximenez to finish.

Isobel Salamon, founder of Slonk and Certified Sherry Wine Specialist said:

Sherry is such a special drink; salty, sappy and amazing with food. I can’t wait to show Edinburgh how versatile it is and have them experience its gastronomic potential for themselves. Over the past few years I’ve seen a big shift in people searching for Sherry wine and this Supper Club will be a great chance to show off Port of Leiths Sherry, but also to connect our community with its history. I’m thrilled to share its secret stories in this location!

On the night Galician-born Chef, Pablo Sensat of Mandas Huevos fame will be cooking guests flavour-packed Spanish Tortillas and Tapas made with Scottish ingredients from local suppliers. Dishes include Spanish Tortillas, Burnt Basque Cheesecake, Croquettes and his infamous hand-crafted crisps.

This Supper Club is a taster and precursor to Slonk bringing Scotland its first dedicated Sherry Wine Festival in 2023. The Festival will take place at the Lind & Lime Gin Distillery in March next year and showcase a variety of Sherry Wines.
