Opening date for Kilmartin Museum
One of the key attractions in Argyll and Bute, Kilmartin Museum re-opens its doors to visitors on Thursday, 25th April, following a period of closure over the winter months.
At Kilmartin Museum you will find artefacts that come from Kilmartin Glen, one of Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscape.

The Museum houses a collection with a Nationally Significant status, offering visitors of all ages a fascinating insight into the lives of our ancestors who inhabited the area over the last 12,000 years.
The Museum will be open from 10am to 5pm (last entry 4pm), Wednesdays through to Sundays until the end of May with opening times beyond May to be confirmed soon.
Kilmartin Museum team have a new, year-round food and drink facility on site: The Glen Bistro. It is run by a superb local chef Sarah Litster. The Bistro will also occasionally be open in the evenings as well.
More good news for is that Kilmartin Museum is shortlisted for the prestigious Museums + Heritage Award in the Permanent Exhibition of the Year category. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 15th May.
Ahead of 25th April, visitors to Kilmartin village are encouraged to drop into the Museum’s Learning Centre to enjoy the St Columba touring exhibition, open on week days until 23rd April between 11am and 3pm.
