Simple, yet classic champagne cocktail Kir Royal

Kir Royal is a classic champagne cocktail, and using Lejay cassis brings this recipe back home.  Did you know that the Lejay family are the originators of Crème de Cassis, the famous French blackcurrant fruit liqueur.

Well, actually Auguste-Denis Lagoute invented Crème de Cassis in Dijon, Burgundy in 1841 but it was his son-in-law, Henri Lejay, who developed the business and ensured that the liqueur became popular not just within his native France but overseas as well. Nowadays you can find it all over the world.

Did you know that Crème de Cassis was the first fruit liqueur imported into Japan?
