Our favourites from this Lidl wine tour

It’s time for another wine tour, so we joined Wine Events Scotland with Master of Wine Richard Bampfield to taste some of this month’s selection.

There are 11 wines in this release an excellebt selection as always.  We have narrowed down to two that we enjoyed the most, and hope you will too.

Müller Grüner Veltliner, £7.99

Pale colour. Pear, peach and wet stone aroma. Off dry, very citrusy crisp lemon and lime taste. Medium acidity I think, seems unexpectedly sweet. Slightly spritzy on the tongue and so easy to drink.

Lidl Deluxe  Grand Reserva Shiraz, £7.99

Deluxe Grand Reserva Shiraz, £7.99

Deep Ruby colour. Aromas of dusty leather bibles, vanilla, cherry menthol, mint and blackcurrant. Dry, quite soft and smooth but still high in acidity. Good mouthfeel.
