Cosy bar with superb food
Another on the been meaning to go forever list, a cheeky Itison deal meant that we pushed ourselves to go and visit. Just off the M77 and on a bus route as well, so no excuse for us not to visit.
As you can see, it is a traditional pub with a cosy interior. There are guitars around, so we will have to return at night to listen to the in-house entertainment.
Menu
We ate from a special Itison menu, which as you can see, had an excellent selection of dishes.
Here is a look at their A la carte menu.
What we ate
Cauliflower cheese soup for Mr. Creamy and cheese, almost as good as homemade (right answer from Mark!)
I picked the sausage roll with pickled walnut brown sauce. Wow, what a superb-tasting sausage roll, not a single fatty bit or gristle. Lots of flavours. It’s just as well we don’t stay here, I’d be in every day for one of these.
Our mains were fish and chips, with the tastiest crushed peas I’ve eaten in a while. I don’t know what they did to them, but a bowl of these and the sausage roll daily please. Mark picked the Kings fried chicken, chipotle mayo, dill pickle and fries. Moist and tender chicken with a crispy coating. Another reason to come back.
We were tempted by dessert but had already decided to have a wander down to the New Fenwick Cafe to have a look. Next time we’ll need to try dessert.
