An afternoons exploring required a cuppa tea and some food.   The only place that appeared to us was Mamma Mia which publicises itself as an Italian Cafe & Restaurant.  For a Saturday afternoon I thought it would’ve been a bit busier with people in for even just a cuppa.  Nope, just ourselves and two pensioners (with some choice language!) and a couple with their child.    The place was a bit cold, so not exactly the cosy “restaurant” experience.  More like a greasy spoon 😉  Toilets are up the stairs and are clean but cold.  (why are toilets always sooo cold?).  Once you place your order, the girl behind the counter uses her walkie talkie to transmit the order.  It was a bit of a wait for what was just toasties! However they were toastie and did the job!

£7 for a toastie, pannini and two teas.

  1. Gosh that was disappointing to read!! I moved out of Castlemilk almost 3 years ago and made a point of going to that cafe just before emegrating to australia. I liked it!!

  2. It was sad, what looked like the only decent place to eat and yet it was so empty 🙁
