Ahead of £30 million investment, a new on-site programme launched
We like to keep an eye on what is happening at Murrayshall Country Estate in Scone, Perthshire, as we are big fans. They have launched a variety of new things including pursuits, a new wellness weekend as well as spa treatments in their newly refurbished Gate House.
The hotel has bought 10 bikes including a range of mountain and e-bikes so that guests can hire them by the hour, half day or day to roam around the 365-acre estate and beyond with carefully created maps showing walking and cycling routes. It also includes 2 exercise bikes as well as a treadmill so that gym enthusiasts can exercise within their guest rooms.
Several garden games are now available on the lawns including spike ball, bean bag games, a giant Jenga and chess set, swingball and a badminton set. For those looking to relax, a hammock swings between a couple of trees or guests can head out for a pre-prepared picnic where the hotel will provide a hamper, rug and a selection of snacks and drinks. The hotel has already teamed up with Willowgate Activity Centre where guests can enjoy axe throwing and laser clay shooting at the back of the 400-year-old manor house.
A selection of spa treatments using luxury Scottish organic seaweed products from Ishga are now available. Treatments include facials and massages at the newly refurbished gatehouse cottage. There is a lounge area for relaxing as well as the opportunity to have drinks served whilst waiting for treatment. The treatments will also be open to non-residents.
A Fitness and Wellbeing Weekend has also been organised on the 9th and 10th of September in collaboration with Club 300 Perth. Guests will enjoy a 5km trail run through the Murrayshall estate, a mountain bike tour, team games, yoga as well as nutritious meals and drinks throughout their 2-day stay.
Leisure Manager Colin Fraser has a background in gymnasiums and personal training and has previously worked in Qatar launching gyms and health clubs. Speaking about the new offering he said, “We’re always looking for new ideas that will attract and inspire our guests. With our stunning location in the heart of Perthshire, we have the space and views to match. It’s great to offer guests a variety of different options from pursuits to wellbeing, that they can enjoy whilst they are staying with us.”
This is the start of a new chapter for the hotel as they work towards building their £30 million masterplan to diversify the estate which will include a stunning spa, leisure facilities and lodges. Plans have already been submitted to Perth and Kinross Council.
