Pakistani Cafe, 607 Pollokshaws Road

After passing by on the bus many a time, we decided to walk along to the Pakistani Cafe since the weather was nice.  I’m glad we did.  It seems to be taking over the mantle from Tchai Ovna (RIP!) as the hip hang out for those not wanting corporation coffee.

After much deliberation over the large and tastebud tingling menu we went for Mango Lassi, Black Grape Smoothie, Punjabi Fry up and Scottish Fry up.   The Scottish Fry had 5 items for £2.90 and the punjabi one had two paratha style breads, curried chick peas, halva, pickles, fried egg and what was a thick cream with mint.  All items were delicious and we both decided to come back in the evening some time to try their curries (£7 odd for biryani, drink and breads), the samosas looked good as well as being nicely priced at 50p with the added bonus of BUY ONE GET ONE!

There are a selection of books to browse whilst sipping your chai or lassi as well as poetry on the walls and the quirkyness that no corporate chain can ever buy.
