Pear and Stilton cheese with Greek Wildwood Honey – Wild Thyme Organic

Honey Temptations

We all know you can use honey in many savoury and sweet dishes, even in a cup of herbal tea when you are feeling under the weather with a cold.  Honey and cheese have similar amounts of Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

A small spoonful of honey can enhance the taste of many foods, but have you considered pairing honey and cheese?   Honey comes in many varieties, flavours and even consistencies: clear, thickset, creamed and honeycomb.  Combinations such as orange blossom, thyme, and lavender are all wonderful options.  Cheese choices can range from Italian cheeses such as Pecorino or Parmigiano, French cheeses like Brie or Camembert, or even a strong cheddar or goat’s cheese.  There are so many different kinds of honey and many different types of cheese, the possibilities are virtually endless.

Try delicious small pots of honey with your cheese pairings. Ideal to use on a cheeseboard after dinner or just as a sharing experience. You don’t need to use too much honey as a serving – a drizzle is usually adequate to enhance the flavour of your cheeses.

Here are some suggestions to experiment with your favourite honey and cheese.
