Keep cosy at home with a homemade pumpkin spiced latte

It’s PSL season! That’s Pumpkin Spiced Latte season to the rest of us.  Here’s a version that you can make at home when you need that autumnal fix.

Homemade Pumpkin Spiced Syrup

300g sugar
350ml water
6 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground nutmeg
4 Tbsp pumpkin puree

Pumpkin spiced latte

1 glass or mug of whole milk
1 shot espresso coffee
2-3 Tbsp Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup
Cinnamon to sprinkle

How to Make Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Makes enough syrup for 8 pumpkin spiced lattes and will keep for up to 7 days in the fridge

Add sugar and water to a saucepan.
Bring to a simmer.
Once the sugar has dissolved, add cinnamon sticks, ground cloves, ginger, nutmeg and pumpkin puree.
Mix and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat.
Strain using a cheesecloth.

How to make Pumpkin Spice Latte

Heat and froth milk in a frother or a saucepan.
Brew a shot of your favourite espresso.
Add homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup into a mug or glass.
Add espresso and mix
Fill mug, or glass, with heated frothed milk.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
