Copycat sausage and egg McMuffin

Make a McDonalds breakfast at home

Missing a McMuffin for breakfast? McDonalds recently shared their recipe to make a sausage and egg McMuffin at home. This recipe is tweaked slightly for a bit more flavour. ❤️

Copycat sausage and egg McMuffin

Ingredients

500g ground pork
1/2 tsp dried sage
1 tsp onion powder
3/4 tsp black pepper
3/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil
4 eggs
4 English muffins
4 slices processed cheese

Method

Preheat oven to 130C
Place muffins on a baking tray, cut side up, and top with cheese.
Mix sausage, sage, onion powder, salt and pepper together in a bowl.
Shape into patties
Heat oil in a large non stick pan over high heat.
Add patties.
Cook the first side until browned.
Flip then cook the other side until browned.
Meanwhile, heat another pan over medium high heat with 1 tbsp oil.
Spray egg rings with oil and place in the pan.
Crack egg into the rings.
Add around 2 tbsp water into the pan then cover with a lid.
Cook for 1 – 2 minutes or until egg is cooked to your liking.
Remove warm muffins from the oven.
Top with sausage, then egg and finally the lid of muffin.
eat!
