The Raven fluffs up its feathers
As the Foodies were away for Mrs Foodie’s birthday celebrations, I was asked to attend the revamp of The Raven – only too happy to oblige.
Menu
The main changes have been made to the menu, and beers available on tap. As a result, there were plenty of tasty examples on offer. The food menu consists of Sides and Snacks, Proper Grilled Sandwiches, Badass Burgers Chips Dips & Bits, Mac & Cheese Salads & Sweet Treats.
We were treated to Pork Crackling with a roast toffee apple sauce, Halloumi Fries with tomato chilli jam, Smoked Buffalo Wings in hot sauce and blue cheese dip, Kfcorn with ranch dip.
Sandwich and dip tasters included the Notorious P.I.G (Sliced and stacked smoked roast pork, green salsa, house crackling, roast toffee apple sauce, Cold Town beer gravy dip); and the Smoked Brisket Dip (Dry rubbed & slow-smoked beef brisket, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing, Coney Island mustard, and Cold Town beer gravy dip).
There are also vegan options and kids menu available.
The drinks menu consists of Craft Beers, Cocktails, Wine, Spirits, Liqueurs and Soft Drinks.
On tap are the venue’s own Cold Town Beer, and Cold Town Pale Ale among others. Again, we were treated to a selection of beers and cocktails, including the Cold Town brews, rum cocktails by Glasgow based Banditti Club, Aperol Spritz, among others.
As expected, the food was very tasty, excellently accompanied by the drinks on offer.
It had been some time since my last visit to the Raven and certainly going by this one, I’ll definitely be returning.
