Family bakers kick off Euro 2024 with Scotland’s first official ‘Tartan Army Pie’

One of the largest traditional craft bakeries in Scotland has kicked off this year’s European Football Championship by launching the country’s first official ‘Tartan Army Pie®’.

Ayrshire-based Brownings the Bakers has released its latest savoury showstopper ahead of Scotland’s first match against Germany in the Euros on 14th June.

Made with a traditional Scottish beef mince and tattie filling and a puff pastry top, Tartan Army Pies are now hitting the shelves across Scotland.

The Tartan Army Pies will be available from all 105 Aldi stores in Scotland, over 100 SPAR stores, selected Morrisons, as well as Brownings’ own six retail stores in Ayrshire.

Hungry football fans can now fuel up for the Euros and support Scotland’s national team by tucking in to the first official Tartan Army Pie throughout the summer and beyond.

Brownings has already scored registered trademark status for its Tartan Army Pie and now hopes it will be as popular as its famous Kilmarnock Pie and Scotch Pie.

The craft bakers currently hold the title of the Best Steak Pie in Scotland for its Kilmarnock Pie from the World Scotch Pie Championships. The family firm has twice been named World Scotch Pie Champions for their Scotch Pie, as well as British and Scottish Baker of the Year.

Brownings’ Tartan Army Pies will hit shelves from Tuesday 11th June, and will be available from Aldi Scotland, selected SPAR and Morrisons, Brownings shops and online at www.browningsbakers.com

For people looking for a vegetarian alternative, Brownings also make a popular macaroni pie, which is also widely available throughout the Euros.
