A twist on the dark ‘n’ stormy for Halloween
If you are looking for inspiration for new Halloween cocktails then here’s a pitch-black drink, which uses an unexpected ingredient – squid ink!
That may sound difficult to come by but you can order squid ink from plenty of websites like Amazon etc. and you can also find it in selected fishmongers locally – it’s inexpensive, costing £1 or less per sachet.
Some local stockists:
The Fish Plaice, Saltmarket, Glasgow
Armstrong’s of Stockbridge, Edinburgh
Squid ink has a mild, sort of umami flavour that could be used to make other cocktails, that you want to look pitch black.
