What to expect on your visit to Sugarfall Patisserie

We embraced our inner Emily in Paris and visited Sugarfall Patisserie which is located on Byres Road in Glasgow’s west end.

Inside it is like a slice of Paris in Glasgow, cakes and patisserie were handled with reverence as they were placed into the display cabinets.

There is a huge selection available, you will be standing for a while deciding what to have.   There seemed to be every combination of cake here rich and indulgent chocolate ones to delicate looking strawberry, which is almost looks too good to eat, almost!

Tea and coffee can also be ordered, as well as soft drinks.  We plumped for the summer specials of strawberry matcha cooler and blue(berry) matcha cooler, alongside a cherry cake and a pistachio and raspberry choux.

Refreshing and refined drinks, much needed in what was a brief hint of summer returning to Glasgow.

Mark picked a Pistachio & Raspberry Choux.  Crisp choux pastry filled with Chantilly cream with a swirl of raspberry.  Topped with pistachio and some freeze-dried raspberries. It was devoured rapidly,

The Cherry, what can we say, it visually says ‘buy me!” but what is inside.  There is a base of chocolate coasted puffed rice atop which sits a double whammy of cherry.   A light pain de gene is topped with cherry jelly and vanilla creameux.  Smooth, luxurious and lots of cherry.

Sugarfall Patisserie also sell madelines, macarons, brownies and other delights on site either to sit in or takeaway. Whilst we were visiting there was healthy stream of visitors buying boxes to take away, the 6 box size seemed popular.

Verdict

A peaceful oasis in the hubub of Byres Road, where you can enjoy some decadent artisan patisserie.   We would suggest arriving early in the day, or ordering your cakes to pick up as it was a busy site and we wouldn’t want you to be disappointed.

Frankie sez

Many thanks to Sugarfall Patisserie for their hospitality.  Frankie sez that this is an honest review, his dad visited before and wanted to bring his mum to try some however Sugarfall Patisserie invited them over before he got the chance to.  He believes his mum and dad as they would get a slap with a claw if they told the lies.
