Tea House on the Loch, Gartcosh

foodie explorers logo

Gorgeous setting next to Johnston Loch.  This is a garden centre with an attached cafe, well more like a cafe with a couple of plants outside.  Bit of a strange setting but the staff are friendly, clean toilets and some good lunch nosh.  cheese n ham toastie  and a steak toastie with two drinks came to £8.

Sun was shining, some nice scenery – bliss

Only downside was the coffee, bit watery – i think the coffee bean was at the other side of the loch waving.  Tea is ok tho 🙂

You can also buy home grown tomatoes etc and pay in the honesty box, watch out for the terracotta warriors inside!

  7. The Teahouse is a great place to sit and relax, the food is great and the staff very friendly. It is now open till 6 pm on weekdays and till 9pm on Saturdays. A three course menu costs £13.50 or so which I think is great value. We will be back, this is a little haven not far from the city and well worth a visit.
