Emma Wendy’s have a bit of a sassy online presence and not being able to get a Wendy’s in Glasgow (Coming soon tho!) this was an easy pick for a food stop off. The baconator had caught our attention in local adverts – our top loves bacon and cheese!
Here is the description
“A half-pound* of fresh British beef, American cheese, 6 pieces of crispy Applewood smoked bacon, Heinz ketchup, and Heinz mayo.”
Sounds good eh? So off I went to give it a go.
The Wendy’s in Whitby is in a gorgeous historic building, which looks good on the outside but inside it does nothing to encourage you to linger.
To the left are stairs up to a seating area, to the right some high chairs beside the window and in front the order area.
Good to see that the burger was cooked fresh, however, remember when fast food was served minutes after you ordered and you didn’t hang about like a spare one?
I don’t know about you but this doesn’t excite my tastebuds. Fatty patty, over cooked bacon and the cheese didn’t even melt. I had one mouthful and gave up. Even Mark didn’t want to finish this and he is a walking food munching machine. I had also ordered a Vanilla Frostyccino – watery and tasteless. Both went into the bin. Waste of calouries and tastebuds.
The Colonel is threatening to take me for a Wendy’s when they open in Glasgow, I’ll need to see how long I can push this off for!
