Chicken Parm Recipe

Cheats version of this classic Italian American dish

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Breaded chicken fillets
  • For The Sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 teaspoons garlic granules
  • 100 g tomato puree
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • Water
  • For The Topping:
  • Half a ball of mozzarella cheese sliced
  • Grated parmesan cheese - enough for a handful of cheese.
  • fresh chopped basil or parsley

Instructions
 

  • Place the breaded chicken in an air fryer at 180 °C and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Whilst the chicken is cooking, make the sauce.
  • Heat oil in saute pan and then fry the chopped onion for around 3 minutes. Then add garlic, tomato puree, herbs and enough water to make a sauce (about 150ml)
  • Bring to a simmer.
  • Once the chicken has cooked, remove it from the air fryer and place it aside.
  • Add some of the sauce to a baking dish and place the chicken onto the sauce.
  • Cover the chicken with the rest of the sauce.
  • Add the mozzarella slices and grated parmesan to the chicken.
  • Return to the air fryer and bake until the cheese is bubbling and melted and the chicken is completely cooked through (approx 10-12 mins)
  • Sprinkle chopped parsley or basil on top of the chicken and serve.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, salad or pasta.
